Fashion Film Academy III

From home I have attended the "Fashion Film academy" conference in its third edition.

During the day there have been great moments and I would like to highlight a few. I do it in order following the program.

1. Conversation with Pablo Maestres, Fashion Films director.

"Inspiration and construction of the story in Fashion Films"

From this conversation, I am left without a doubt with Pablo's union of fashion with music.

Then I add "Winter Eclipse" directed by Pablo Maestres for DELPOZO.

- Winter Eclipse.

The viewing of the DELPOZO ss16 fashion film is also mandatory. Inspiration from the movie "Labyrinth".

The scenography in: "La Muralla roja" Calpe, is extraordinary.

2. Round table

"Fashion Film at the service of brand strategy".

It is impossible for me to stay with only one point to highlight since the participants in the conversation, by themselves, already give a lot of value in each intervention.

The best of the round table the pleasure of listening to such great experts, together.

- Moderator: Paloma Díaz Soloaga.

- Participate:

Rosa Tous.
Charo Mora.
Victor Claramunt.
Leandro Cano.

I only write here my enthusiasm when listening to Charo Mora speaking of the philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky.

Lipovetsky explains that the human being acts either out of fear or out of desire.

And without a doubt for me, fashion is pure DESIRE.

3. Conversation with Diego Hurtado de Mendoza

From the angels it was a real pleasure to listen to Diego Hurtado de Mendoza. Director of both fashion films and music videos.

From their conversation, the first thing I extract is an impressive staging.

His advice to young people was direct and straightforward, I came up with something like: "work hard" and I love people who say you have to work to get things done. That is a sign of greater sincerity.

Here is a very funny fashion film of his:
MoOndAys

4. The between times

Between conference and conference there was a series of fashion films and interviews going on, this was very enriching since it kept the attention on the screen.

Everything was very good, but the interview with Roberto Verino is excellent. Clarify that the interview is in Spanish.

5. Interview with Fred Sweet

Closing the first day of the conference was Carla Vázquez Jones interviewing Fred Sweet, director of the "La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival".

The staging and the interview was great and without a doubt I am left with Fred's sympathy when talking about the "creators", very inspiring. It is nice to hear him talk about the community generated around fashion films and appreciating the entrepreneurial initiative of the creators when making their productions.

6. Commented selection of fashion films with Ana Llorente Villasevil

Prof. Llorente is undoubtedly one of the most influential teachers in my obsession with fashion. And I was not her best student at all.

I really enjoy listening to her speak, she is a silo of knowledge, and a professional when preparing each of her sessions.

I only have words of thanks for this session as well as for all previous ones. The selection was meticulous and highly topical.

Prof. Ana Llorente screened this Dior fashion film, it was very good.

Finally, I would like to thank all the team responsible for carrying out these days, they were two days of connection and disconnection at the same time.

A pleasure. Take care and care.
